I originally enjoyed Laurens' novels too, the first one I read was A Rake's Vow. But then I made the mistake of reading A Secret Love, which has a stupid, completely illogical plot. Ever since I have refused to even look at a Stephanie Laurens novel. Overwrought passion is ok for me in a romance novel, but I expect authors to put a little thought in their plots.

The books are kinda similiar to the little gummy candies you crave every so often. (Swedish Berries, Fuzzy Peaches, etc.)

Really really good when you want them -- but please (!) not every day!

If you aren't sure if you want to get your toes wet -- Stephanie Laurens' webpage has largish chunks of each book up for previews. :)

My favorite is "Where the heart leads".
